Woke up this morning to THIS picture:
I think this speaks for itself.
They made it home safe.Had the BEST breakfast at the hotel - the kids were really excited about the made to order buffet (less excited about waking up for it). Then we gassed up and headed out on the road for the day. Tolls were not too bad, so far, and that was one thing I had been worried about after our last attempt at the northeast.
Miles was able to book us a campsite in Burlington, VT - almost entirely by himself. Not bad kiddo! We are tenting it right on Lake Champlain. Had leftover pizza for dinner, sat down by the lake for a bit, then made a fire. It took some arm twisting for some, but we headed back down to the lake to check out the stars... and were promptly greeted by security. He let us hang out for a few minutes, and also pointed out some planets that were visible. Apparently the beach closes at 9p?
(I wish the mountains came through better in these!)
(Maybe they need to watch 'IT' so they are less inclined to want to walk through the sewer tunnel.)
Today's Totals:
364 miles
$127
Today's Song: The Velvet Underground - 'Sweet Jane' as it was karaoke party of one (me) in the car all day.
Today's Lessons:
1. Grandma has quite the sense of humor, and left some items behind...
2. Charging technology is going to be an issue for the next few days.
3. Book the deal when you get the chance - our hotel plan for Sunday fell through. Moving on to another plan...
Tomorrow morning we are packing up and headed to Warren Falls for some swimming (although the water was pretty cold when I stuck my feet in today), and then... well... we aren't really sure what the plan is for the rest of the day. Let's just hope for some good weather and we can go from there 😀🎈
